Flight Envelope Protection — SRS Excerpt
An avionics requirement that promises to protect the airframe under any reasonable conditions — and never says what that means.

## SRS-FE-04 — Flight Envelope Protection
The envelope-protection function shall constrain pitch and roll commands to safe values under all reasonable conditions. When the aircraft approaches the boundary of the certified flight envelope, the protection law will gracefully reduce control authority and notify the flight crew as soon as practical.
Recovery from an exceedance shall occur in a timely manner once the inputs return to normal ranges. The system shall be robust against sensor noise and shall behave appropriately during transient failures of the air data computer and/or inertial reference unit. Built-in test coverage shall be sufficient for Level B credit, etc.
Verification will demonstrate that the function performs well across the operating envelope under typical atmospheric conditions.
